Parviz Rahmanpanah is a prolific virtuoso tar player who has performed in venues such as the Carnegie hall and the Kennedy center among others. He has an impressive ten album collection of recorded music. He composes mainly for tar, however, he has a talent for using human voice as an instrument also. When it comes to writing and performing the tar, Parviz has a style unique to himself.
By bringing together the traditional sound of târ and the possibilities of electronic sound, Parviz has attracted many younger listeners to the beautiful and soul soothing sound of the târ, while preserving the authenticity of the instrument he plays.

Parviz has made history by this new approach. In his first ever Northern California concert, Parviz Rahmanpanah is accompanied by a 9 member group of talented musicians from Los Angeles and featuring two up and coming vocalists. Parviz will perform many of his original compositions plus some folk and traditional pieces.
The instruments accompanying him in this concert are; Kamancheh, santour, daf, tabla/percussions, drums, keyboards, stand up bass, and of course… tar. The vocalists are Ronak Darekeh and Kourosh Khamoushian. It is surely a concert you will not forget. |
